TUULETAR (“Goddess of The Wind” in Finnish Mythology) is a vocal folk hop -group, consisting of four diverse young women.
Tuuletar takes a novel approach to exporting Finnish musical tradition. The band´s virtuoso singers use only their voices to create a vivid sonic landscape, where beatbox rhythms meet Finnish folk tradition and global influences. Tuuletar has named its brand of cheery and captivating music “vocal folk hop”. The band´s modern and original style earned it an Emma Award in the beginning 2017.
Since 2012 these vibrant singers from Finland have been singing, composing and performing together, creating their own and unique sound.
Tuuletar takes influences from all around the world, inspired by sounds from American hip hop to South Asian folk, all while keeping their feet strongly rooted in Finnish language and musical heritage.
